I am so excited to finally be able to introduce you to the new and exclusive Signature Rudding Park Collection.
I was approached by the team at Rudding Park to design and produce a bespoke range of fine bone china, exclusive to them, for their stunning afternoon tea served in their Conservatory Restaurant.
The ethos from the outset was to design a collection to enhance the sense of refined elegance when taking Afternoon Tea at Rudding Park.
The collaboration between Jo Deakin and the unique style of Rudding Park was an opportunity not to be missed. The look and feel of the hotel, with the pops of colour and design details at every turn and in every corner, was instantly the right fit.
The Afternoon Tea experience shares the same purpose as the Jo Deakin mantra of taking time out to have a stylish cup of what you love. The celebratory and spoiling aspect of taking afternoon tea is hosted so beautifully at Rudding Park. It is iconically British, a special break from the norm and a social experience to enjoy with loved ones.
We used an entirely British-based process from start to finish. The design was taken from our original Ebb range, and tweaked in original ways to produce a fresh and unique look to Rudding, whilst upholding the Jo Deakin style of bold and geometric pattern. The artwork, decoration and of course the actual fine bone china itself, was all produced in Stoke-on-Trent, the home of pottery.
We wanted to combine our shared passion for colour and pattern to create a truly bespoke collection of British fine bone china to enjoy at the stunning Conservatory location. The colours are taken from the Rudding Park house palette, and have been individually matched by the factory in Stoke-on-Trent to continue the same unique combinations on the china. From walls and upholstery, and now, right through to the table ware.
The pattern holds the three Rudding Park contrasting colour pops well and the hand applied orange trim detail is a small but bold reference that can be found throughout the hotel. You have to look for it as it has been included throughout the hotel with subtlety and finesse, nevertheless it is there and shows character, charm and style.
The process has been so enjoyable and a real journey to produce and meet the demands of such a superior and elegant hotel, and I have loved every minute of it!
